Eduqas – SEO

Eduqas are one the largest providers of qualifications for schools, academies, sixth form and further education colleges in the UK. Offering valued qualifications to suit a range of abilities. Eduqas is a core component of WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee). They house a wide range of subjects on their website as well as help and advice for both students and teachers.

The Challenge

Conducting a complicated migration which involved a CMS change as well as big structural and usability changes.

Adding useful, relevant page copy onto over 120 empty qualififcation pages.

Maintaining and monitoring techinical SEO problems following historic known issues

Our Approach

We discovered hundreds of subject pages that were not redirected following their migration and had to ensure these pages were redirected appropriately to the relevant replacement pages because they were pages that over time had acquired many of quality, relevant backlinks.

Upon reviewing the content on the core subject pages we discovered that no original useful content was available on these pages. Using a wide selection of resources supplied by the client we were able to create quality, relevant, optimised page content for these subject pages.

Continuous monitoring was also required to ensure a high level of technical SEO was implemented across the whole site. We worked closely with client to fix any technical issues such as indexation and robots.txt file directive issues.
